Demonstrates abilities in quality inspection and methods used to ensure quality control.  Develops & implements processes to ensure the highest level of quality assurance possible.  Capable of coordinating work of team members, providing guidance as needed based on experience in past quality assurance roles.


Essential Functions:

  1. Coordinates and monitors work of team members (permanent/temporary) to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
  2. Communicates with supervisor to determine priorities, observes work in progress & advises supervisor of issues.
  3. Serves as a resource to team members; answers questions and resolves quality assurance problems.
  4. Has a continuous improvement mentality looking to improve quality processes and team effectiveness
  5. Demonstrates “role model” work habits and fosters teamwork within the department.
  6. Enhances team morale; discusses issues and suggestions with supervisor and follows up with team members.
  7. Conducts on-the-job training and provides constructive feedback to employees.
  8. Interprets engineering drawings and/or product specifications
  9. Performs First Article, visual and dimensional inspections on a variety of products.
  10. Ability to perform analysis to determine the acceptability of processes; documents out-of-spec conditions.
  11. Gathers monthly quality data and compiles reports as needed
  12. Works with appropriate department to clarify drawings, product specifications, and bill of materials as needed.
  13. Works with engineering/marketing, manufacturing and purchasing staff to resolve quality issues.
  14. Ability to develop product inspection and sampling plans under guidance of supervisor
  15. Uses calipers, micrometers, steel rules, comparators, pin and force gauges, surface plates, drop indicators, height gauges, gauge blocks, Rockwell testers, hand trucks and various related gauges to perform work.
  16. Ability to perform layout inspections using the Coordinate Measuring Machine a plus
  17. Performs all other related duties as assigned.



To perform the job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the following competencies:

  3. Safety - Observes all safety procedures and policies; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; Uses equipment and materials properly.



High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



  1. Three years’ related quality experience; Proficient with the operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines a plus
  2. ASQ mechanical inspection certification is a plus.
  3. Comprehensive understanding of quality techniques.
  4. Knowledge of MS Word, and Excel required (Access and Powerpoint preferable).
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Able to work with a variety of personalities in a team environment.
  6. Strong math and analytical skills
  7. Excellent attention to detail.
  8. Strong organization skills – able to handle multiple assignments
  9. Able to read and interpret complex drawings or specifications.
  10. Able to stand for extended periods of time, lift 35 lbs. and able to use inspection tools and equipment.
