    Responsibilities

    Account Knowledge- Provides essential account knowledge and competencies to maintain all necessary changes required according to current policies and procedures of customer to grow and maintain business. Get approvals from the Associate Merchant and inventory Planners at HD, to be able to grow the business in the account on new items for all stores and expand assortments to grow dollars.

     

    • Manages all cost, retail, new-item setup, part number changes with account as required.
    • Manages and maintains Assortment Maintenance Tool (AMT) for all categories as required by Home Depot.
    • Manages data exchange with backend support to support everyday business and new business.
    • Is the primary point of contact for Internal Customer Support Staff.
    • Primary point of contact with the HD internet merchant to grow the current core business base at this time into $2.0 million in the short term. Use the company’s base of 120K SKUs to help determine growth items to drive to this number.
    • Resolves issues working with Depot personnel to include, but not limited to, Merchandise Managers, Merchandise Assistants, Replenishment, and Store Environment.
    • Works with channel Marketing Team to develop regional product clusters to grow sales and optimize the product mix.
    • Meets with HD merchandising team to develop and build account planograms for all categories in line with Home Depot’s requirements.
    • Manages and coordinates merchandising fixture shipments and deliveries including fixture payments.
    • Develops and creates sales reporting from customer portal to help improve sales and inventory performance.
    • Independently works with Associate HD Merchants to address and implement store requests for items as needed to expand product base to grow sales.
    • Provide information to Data Management Team in support of electronic data interchange (EDI) including new account pricing and resolution of batch file error reports.
    • Work with marketing to create pricing profiles to drive profitable sales for company.
    • Provides recommendations to HD sales leaders to improve sales and field execution.
    • Help create meaningful decks to customer to grow business through good decisions.
    • Support sales and gross profit expectations with Depot categories

     

    Product Expertise

    • Partners with Marketing Department to grow and expand product lines at Depot.
    • Partners with Marketing staff to design and create plan-o-grams and programs at Depot.
    • Partners with Marketing staff to develop promotional opportunities that drive sales growth at Depot.
    • Develops and creates new product offerings for potential line extensions for Depot.
    • Recognized by Depot as the category expert and program captain in assigned categories.

    Field Service & Account Communication- Ensure that all account information is communicated to Field Service and maintains good working relationships with customers.

    • Communicates regularly with field service, responds to inquiries and resolves issues.
    • Works with Customer Service and Field Service to coordinate roll-outs and new store sets.
    • Manages the AMT (HD Assortment Management Tool) for 2000 stores to ensure accurate daily orders from Home Depot.
    • Works with HD Associate Merchants on planograms for stores in clusters- allowing for our products to be properly merchandised to optimize sales
    • Designs Field Service communications and execution instructions related to planograms, product changes, promotions and roll-out information.
    • Work with HD on product specs and information to add and keep current products.

     Sales Support- Performs a variety of sales support functions as necessary.

    • Provides necessary support to the Hillman organization where required to complete designated project tasks or business tasks.
    • Assist the Field Service Department with the development and maintenance of account requirements and needs.
    • Works closely with entire Depot core team to drive total Depot business.
    • Works with his/her management to develop annual sales and margin budgets for assigned categories.
    • Maintains a current knowledge of the company’s products and services.
    • Prepares a variety of sales reports and customer reviews.
    • Prepares new business presentations including literature and product samples.
    • Attends trade shows and sales meetings as required.
    • Develops and maintains internal customer database and works with Data Management group.
    • Assists with yearly budgetary and forecast models.
    • Manages customer orders.

    Qualifications

    • 4 year Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of three years related experience selling and supporting “big box” accounts. Home Depot experience strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of hardware items.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Strong presentation and sales negotiation skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers.
    • Able to travel overnight, to include air travel.
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver license.
