Overview

Exemplifies team expectations for operational requirements in a manufacturing and distribution environment. A lead is a primary resource in meeting operational goals in productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and training for the department. Serves as a back up to manufacturing supervisor and is a high level inventory support.

Responsibilities

Key Results Areas:

 

Quality

  • Leads efforts to resolve quality barriers and addresses non-conforming material issues.
  • Serves as a liaison with manufacturing resources to coordinate efforts in inspection of products, assemblies or machines to ensure that they meet requirements.
  • Uses measuring devices, functional gages and a variety of basic hand tools to perform work and evaluate quality.
  • Leads team 5S activities and serves as authority in maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Accountable for Outgoing and End of Line Audit results, addresses them with team, and aligns resources to eliminate potential errors.

Material Handling

  • Serves material handling requirements and guides resources in meeting departmental objectives.
  • Operates material handling equipment up to right angle forklifts to stock, wrap, package, and organize materials to support operations.
  • Processes interdepartmental and site level bulk and small storage handling needs.

Processing

  • Leads assigned group to meet or exceed daily productivity targets for processes/equipment.
  • Processes a variety of manufacturing related materials, and products to established specifications.
  • Monitors, tracks, and serves as a process and equipment pace setter in meeting and exceeding productivity requirements.
  • Leads employees in completing departmental paperwork requirements and confirms accuracy.

Operational Results

  • Accurately completes a wide range of departmental metric tracking as required.
  • Completion of Inventory transactions with inventory analysis comparing to BOMs.
  • Utilizes Job Hazard Analysis as a safety training resource and collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering and Supervision to maintain them.
  • Reports inconsistencies (i.e. inventory, process) and operating barriers to supervisor and other exempt levels as required. Is a direct resource to influence and define resolution paths.
  • Utilizes available resources responsibly to accomplish jobs without waste.

Qualifications

Education:

High School diploma or GED equivalent is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • More than 10 yrs. manufacturing/distribution/assembly experience is typical and preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail required.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work from verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team to meet production goals.
  • Demonstrates leadership through strength in core competencies.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to perform repetitive work.
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
