Overview

This position is responsible for optimizing our facilities; improving the work flow; utilization of equipment; materials and personnel to maximize efficiency. Additionally, this position is responsible for Cost Benefit Analysis and Financial Planning for all projects and tasks undertaken.

Responsibilities

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

  • Cost Benefit Analysis and Financial Planning

 

  • Data gathering, analytics and presentation.
  • Can work with all functional areas to gather data requirements.
  • Create models to evaluate the costs and benefits related to distribution, packaging, prototype and design changes.
  • Presents models to leadership in a clear and succinct fashion.
  • Develop processes to improve distribution, value added services as well as packaging processes

 

  • Analyze and challenge existing processes and procedures in all departments throughout the DC network; make and justify recommendations; work with the DC management to integrate solutions.
  • Lead or participate in DC layout/design, including purchases of items (pallet racking, powered conveyors, picking systems, forklifts, etc.).
  • Maintain and/or develop engineered labor standards by providing expertise on utilization of existing automation systems as well as recommended future automation systems.
  • Create and/or standardize reports for Distribution and Packaging Management to drive maximum performance improvements including but not limited to the following:

 

  • Track and summarize all cost saving initiatives.
  • Standardize Distribution Center (DC) metrics.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and process flow charts.
  • Analyze DC space demands, develop and document solutions up to and including implementation.
  • Oversee DC slotting process.
  • Maintain accurate drawings of all DC facilities using CAD, Visio or similar software.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering

Project Management and Cost Accounting

AutoCAD; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Adobe Professional, Visio

 

Qualifications:

  • Five to ten years of distribution experience is preferred
  • Excellent oral, written, listening and presentation skills
  • Excellent technology and/or computer skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to produce, manage and complete Action Plans on all projects
  • Important Skills and experience
  • Keen grasp of Safety policies and procedures
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, Continuous Improvement
  • Genuine willingness to listen to employee concerns
  • Third Party Fulfillment (3PL)
  • Warehouse Management Systems
  • Simulation software
  • Other tasks as assigned.
