Quality Assurance/Control

Overview

Inspects a variety of incoming materials and parts to determine if they meet established specifications; Documents variances and assists with the proper disposition of rejected items. Performs in-process inspections to identify quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Performs visual inspections and testing on key sleeves and related products.
  • Performs visual and dimensional inspection on metal keys.
  • Interprets basic engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Performs regular visual in-process inspections – inspects finished product to determine if it complies with engineering specifications and customer requirements, communicates quality issues to Manufacturing staff.
  • Interacts with Engineers and Quality Lead to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintains accurate inspection and auditing records and procedure manuals
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Uses calipers, laser micrometers, hand trucks, pallet jacks, surface plates, drop indicators, height gauges, gauge blocks, eye loupes.
  • Prior experience preferred; additional training provided as needed.

Qualifications

  • One year related experience; understanding of basic quality techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong math and analytical skills required.  
  • Understanding of SI units (3 decimal places) and Imperial/English units (4 decimal places).
  • Able to distinguish color differences on the pantone color chart.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to read and interpret basic drawings.
  • On the job training will be provided in key areas of inspection. 

Physical Requirement:

  • Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to perform repetitive work.
