Overview

The Principal Business Analyst is responsible for the overall stability, configuration and support of distribution technologies within the Hillman’s Group Supply Chain Applications as well as documenting existing processes and future developments. The incumbent will work with the plant users both on-site and off-site and will lead the design solution process. This role requires experience with supply chain solutions including Warehouse Management (WM), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Labor/Workforce Management (LMS), Slotting Optimization, Yard Management, RF Scanning, Pick to Light Systems, Material Handling Solutions (ASRS, Good to Person, Multi Shuttles, Conveyors), Voice systems and Manifesting Software solutions. In addition, this person is required to have great knowledge of distribution and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Scope:

 

  • Design, build and implement functional solutions which meet desired business requirements
  • Support Distribution Technology users in their daily business solutions including systems training and production issue troubleshooting
  • Assume lead role in developing solutions for business processes from manual to WMS applications designing and developing Distribution Technology applications for roll-out in a multi-site environment
  • Key player in all phases of system implementation including requirements gathering, functional and technical design, system design and development, testing and roll-out support
  • Provide daily user support for Distribution Technology Solutions during and post implementation
  • Troubleshoot transaction issues. Fully document all configurations, customizations and interfaces to other systems
  • Open and manage defect request tickets with vendors
  • Lead role in system integration
  • Active role in system maintenance, disaster recovery, application security, and data integrity
  • Develop a deep understanding of system capabilities and be the subject matter expert for the WMS applications

      • AS/RS
      • Goods–to-Person(GTP)
      • Voice Systems
      • Pick-to-Light
    • Wonderware
    • Dematic
    • Lightning Pick (Pick To Light)
  • Competent working in a distribution operation in a wide geographic network
  • Experience interfacing WMS technologies and applications to back office systems/ERP
    • JDE Preferred
  • Module design and configuration experience
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle
  • Experienced with SOX regulations within an IT environment
  • Proficient with Software/System Upgrades
  • Strong SQL Skills
  • Strong System Integration knowledge/skills
  • RDBMS – Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, etc
  • Ability to provide remote support 24/7 to multiple distribution centers
  • Able to travel within the US, Canada and Overseas
  • B.S. Computer Information System and 10+ years of experience
