Overview

Performs a variety of procedures to test the functionality of proprietary company software. Analyzes test data to report results to development group for bug fixes and enhancements. Uses troubleshooting and analytical skills to ensure the quality of software across all product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Software Testing - Uses software testing methodologies to perform testing of in-house software. Ensures software meets company requirements by developing internal relationships with developers and evaluating documentation.
    • Reviews test material and design documents to thoroughly test software.
    • Ensures quality through detailed inspection of functionality and interaction of software components.
    • Creates controlled test labs by planning and configuring hardware and software environments.
    • Assists internal customers in other departments by researching questions regarding software operation.

 

Quality Assurance – Use tools and participation in requirements meetings to help shape long term software quality.

    • Analyze multiple test results to identify larger integration issues.
    • Track results over multiple releases to identify quality trends.
    • Participate in requirements building to inject quality early in the software cycle.

Documentation / Tracking – Uses software development tools to detail, document and track software issues and enhancements.

    • Use tracking software to report and track software issues.
    • Uses tracking software and other communication tools to facilitate daily improvements in software.
    • Report findings to the developers.

Test case development / Maintenance – Develop and maintain test plans and scripts for various company products.

    • Uses knowledge of company software and internal development process to create test plans for new features by evaluating changing functionality and risk.
    • Organizes and maintains test case library using software development tools.
    • Updates existing test cases and policies as required.

OS Maintenance

  • Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot Windows Operating System on a variety of platforms
  • Ability to configure and install components such as network settings and drivers
  • Familiarity with DISM, ADK and Windows Embedded platforms

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent plus related college courses.

 

  • Two years related experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft tools and environments including Office, DOS and Windows
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of source control and issue tracking technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
