Overview

The Operations Management of inventory and customer channels. Will analyze, coordinate, and execute demand planning and project implementation for the various Hillman Group product lines. The analyst will work closely with all departments within Hillman and with internal and external packaging operations to coordinate production needs.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages Company Inventory
  •  
  • Generates fill level, inventory, and demand reports for analysis and management review
  • Queries data to analyze forecasts for accuracy and makes any necessary adjustments
  • Coordinates with buyers to expedite or reschedule finished goods and raw material due dates and order quantities to meet the customer’s requirements
  • Advises appropriate individuals when component availability or production capacity problems place inventory levels at risk
  • Tracks Work Order status and contacts packagers to address any issues
  • Communicates regularly with packagers to provide information, monitor progress, and address issues
  • Collaborates with Inventory Control staff to research inventory issues and errors

  • Actively participates in sales and operations planning reviews
  • Participates in sales and production meetings to identify and keep ahead of project requirements and unusual product demands
  • Effectively works with Hillman Purchasing, Marketing and Sales staff to plan and implement projects including but not limited to, promotions, conversions, new products, store roll-outs, buybacks, and changes to existing product offering
  • Acts as Operations project lead to drive planning, purchasing, and distribution project requirements
  • Responsible for financial analysis of the forecast and entry of approved forecast
  • Achieves specified customer fill level requirements and expedites as needed
  • Researches large customer orders for inventory availability and effects on purchasing and production schedules
  • Ensures that all new store roll-outs ship on time with required fill levels
  • Drives Hillman Operations to Customer Operations Communication Channel

  • Manages and complies with customer fill rates, service levels, fines, and special projects
  • Effectively communicates with customers in operational areas of purchasing, planning, replenishment, quality, logistics and warehousing to support Hillman day to day operations or initiatives including but not limited to promotions, conversions, new products, store roll-outs, buybacks, and changes to existing product offering

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management or related Business Degree Preferred

Experience:

  • Three - five years related experience preferred
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management through APICS (CPIM) preferred
  • Able to travel occasionally in the United States
  • Must possess a valid driver license
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Windows required
  • Knowledge of AS400, GAINS and JDE/E1 preferred
  • SQL knowledge preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MPS/MRP principles and logic preferred
  • Understanding of financial and accounting principles preferred
  • Able to write clearly, accurately and logically
  • Able to develop and deliver effective group presentations
  • Strong project management, planning, and organization skills and attention to detail
  • Able to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with fellow employees, vendors, and customers
