Overview

The IT Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the Hillman Group 7/24 IT Operations schedule, policies and procedures. This hands-on position manages the scheduling, operation, and control of all data processing and ITIL activities for the Hillman Group. Additionally, this position is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and administration of Hillman’s iSeries server platform and JD Edwards E1 ERP platform. Performs continuous analysis of production jobs, backup processes, system monitors and system availability and provides solutions working with all Hillman IT and Business Groups. Directs and coordinates the activities of the IT Operations staff and external IT service providers. A significant majority of these requirements must be accomplished to meet the overall requirements of the position.

Responsibilities and Scope

  • IT Scheduling & Operations - develops, maintains and optimizes production run schedules and procedures to ensure optimized application and system efficiency using automated scheduling tools. Reviews application run instructions, recovery instructions and documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance with established st7andards.
  • iSeries Administration – manages staff and partner relationships responsible for the management and administration of Hillman’s iSeries server platform.
  • JDE E1 CNC Administration – manages staff and partner relationships responsible for the management and administration of Hillman’s JD Edwards Enterprise One ERP platform.
  • Vendor Partner Management – manages the daily interactions and project-based activities with external services partner relationships in areas like Data Center Hosting, JDE E1 CNC Administration and iSeries Administration.
  • ITIL – facilitates Hillman’s weekly Change Management Meetings. Develop and maintain ongoing ITIL-based policies and procedures for Change, Incident and Problem Management. Conduct and administer Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Service Restoration Team (SRT) procedures as appropriate.
  • Policies & Procedures – develop, maintain and enforce IT Policy and Procedures for all IT Operations functions in areas like job scheduling, problem/incident management, Service Level Agreements, Disaster Recovery, Service Restoration, SOX reporting and Compliance.
  • Reporting – responsible for the development, administration and automation of IT Operations Reporting in areas like Monthly IT Dashboard Metrics, System Availability, Shift Turnover Reporting, Weekly/Monthly SOX Reports.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years experience in the Information Technology industry
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in technology, business, or equivalent from an accredited four-year institution
  • Excellent understanding of IT Operations, System Administration and ITIL processes and procedures
  • Meets the following qualifications at the levels specified:

Preferred

  • Advanced, hands-on working knowledge of multi-platform job scheduling platforms
  • Working, hands-on knowledge of ITIL management platforms and source code promotion tools
  • Working, hands-on knowledge of the iSeries server environment and relevant 3rd Party Products
  • Working knowledge of maintaining the various operational, administrative and security requirements of an ERP platform, preferably JD Edwards Enterprise One.
  • Prior experience with Warehouse Management Systems like Manhattan
  • ITIL certified
  • Prior experience in the distribution industry, retail and/or consumer products company
