    Summary:

    Prepare and ship outgoing products and/or receive, verify, and record incoming materials and supplies.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    • Loads and/or unloads trucks.
    • Reviews both outgoing and/or incoming shipments. Checks all packaging for damage and compares, counts, measures quantity information to packing slips. Communicates with Hillman staff to resolve discrepancies as needed.
    • Completes all documentation as required.
    • Transfers goods to and from inventory locations. Prepares inventory tags for product locations throughout the facility.
    • Reviews and reconciles daily shipments and receipts.
    • Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems. Reports other problems to supervisor.
    • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
    • Follows safety policies and procedures. Notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions.
    • Operates a forklift, order picker, manual pallet jack, and power pallet jack. Performs safety checks prior to use. Reports machine problems to supervisor.
    • Checks boxes to ensure they are sealed, properly labeled, and free from any damage. Makes sure all quality standards and procedures are followed as directed.
    • Enters package data into the computer to generate shipping labels.
    • Transfers LTL and UPS packages to the appropriate staging locations.
    • Palletizes skids, shrink wraps, and loads product onto trucks.
    • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies to complete tasks without waste.
    • Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems. Reports other problems to supervisor.
    • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    High School diploma or GED required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Warehouse and/or industry related experience preferred
    • Basic computer skills. Able to learn and use in-house software applications
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Able to work from verbal and written instructions
    • Able to work accurately with numbers
