    Responsibilities

    Design

    • Evaluates existing products - recommends and implements engineering solutions.
    • Designs parts and mechanisms for existing products.
    • Creates mechanical designs using CAD software.

    Manufacturing

     

    • Identifies cost saving opportunities and initiates cost reduction projects.
    • Works with Quality and Manufacturing staff to resolve machine and part quality issues.
    • Maintains a current knowledge of manufacturing operations and customer requirements.

    Test/Validation

     

    • Tests, verifies, and validates parts and machines.
    • Uses calipers, measuring devices, and test equipment to perform work.
    • Qualifies parts and subsystems using measuring devices

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    Qualifications:

    • Three years mechanical design experience.
    • Experience working with motion control devices a plus.
    • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
    • Proficient in Solidworks. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
    • Strong mechanical, analytical, and problem solving skills.
    • Good fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering design theory and practice.
    • Proven ability to design static and dynamic mechanical systems
    • Hands-on prototyping / modeling experience
    • Design of injection molded parts, stamped metal components, machined/fabricated parts and subassemblies, and familiarity with the tooling associated with these processes a plus.
    • Process and/or Manufacturing Engineering experience a plus.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and graphical).
    • Willingness to work in all areas assigned as deemed necessary for the success of the team.
