  • Overview

    The HRIS Intern will work closely with multiple areas of Human Resources to provide support of the day-to-day operations, special projects and initiatives. The HRIS intern will be exposed to a wide array of HRIS platforms and functions including but not limited to: XML form design, Data importing tools (SFTP, XML, CSV), workflow mapping and auditing, SQL based report editor, access control and organization design.


    Intern will be exposed to sensitive company and personal information requiring the highest levels of discretion and responsibility. The intern position will interact with the entire HR organization as well as a variety of leadership and team members from other internal groups. The ability to interpret data and communicate its meaning and impact will be important to the intern’s success.


    • Participate in new employee training on HRIS systems
    • Assist in developing, testing and deploying improved onboarding practices
    • Assist HRIS team in development, documentation and deployment of HRIS modules
    • Assist team in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements and implementations
    • Monitor and respond to inquiries for basic system administration support e.g. password resets, access changes
    • Run scheduled and ad hoc reports as needed from the HRIS systems, clean and collate data to be presentable and functional for internal customers
    • Use SQL based report editor to customize existing reports and develop ad hoc reports as needed
    • Participate in data integrity testing and assist in remediation of identified issues
    • Provide overall administration and tactical support to promote the success of the team
    • Design, build and implements new hire onboarding workflows and processes for the entire organization
    • Work with HRIS and HR leadership to develop and implements improvements to HR, HRIS and Payroll policies, practices and processes

    Assist in development and deployment of benefits open enrollment programs and communications


    Student in a certified undergraduate or graduate program in a related field is required

    • Able to multitask, switch priorities, and be flexible
    • Collaborate with colleagues, but also showcase the ability to work independently
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
    • Able to research and understand technical documents
    • Some knowledge of web applications and basic software
    • Strong communication skills—verbal and written
    • Detail-oriented
    • Ability to focus on achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while working with a diverse team
    • Able to constantly adapt and evolve with the needs of the organization
    • Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel
