    Summary:

    The Plant Planner directs all levels of work flow for work centers, contract vendors, and other internal process areas, to meet company objectives based on production capacity requirements and cost. Drives availability of finished goods by reviewing schedules and releasing work within established deadlines. Provides proactive customer service and direction to support Plant Leadership. Champions and supports LEAN processes in all areas of responsibility.

    Responsibilities

    Key Result Areas (KRAs):

    • Plant/Work Center Management

     

      • Communicates with internal and external work centers and packagers on priority of work and publishes “To Do” reports.
      • Timely release of order to work centers and packagers to meet finished good required dates.
      • Develop and publish work order status reports to show current status of open orders and drive cycle time goals through bulk receiving and vendor completion phases. Must include “Hold for Bulk” analysis.
      • Research bulk material availability and coordinate with buyers to expedite or reschedule raw material due dates and order quantities to meet the customer requirements.
    • Address any issues that may arise.
    • E1 troubleshooting and work order corrections.
    • BOM issues
    • Routing corrections
    • Incorrect work order processing
    • Transaction errors
    • Work order variances
    • Order creation for rejected / rework material.
    • Daily Gains work order processing.
    • Adjust and maintain branch plant minimums in Gains to ensure shop floor efficiency.
    • Weekly report out on work order trends “aging” “potential outs” “priorities”.
    • Conduct weekly packaging materials review to maintain consistent flow of supply items and reduction of supply shortages.
    • Back up option for Scan to Truck process.

    Qualifications

     

    Education:

    Bachelor degree in business or related field

    Qualifications:

    • 5 years relevant experience preferred
    • Certification in Production and Inventory Management through APICS (CPIM) a plus
    • Comprehensive knowledge of MPS/MRP principles and logic
    • Must possess a valid driver license
    • Knowledge of automated production and inventory control systems
    • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows
    • Knowledge of AS400, GAINS, and E1 preferred
    • Understanding of financial and accounting principles
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
    • Able to write clearly, accurately, and logically
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong project management, planning, organization skills, and attention to detail
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Able to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and other team members
